Mrs. Garzetta is the Director of Grace Episcopal Church Latino/Immigrant Outreach (GLO/GIO) Millbrook, in Dutchess County, NY since 2008. She works with immigrants living in the Northeast part of Dutchess County helping them to live healthy and productive lives in their community. As part of this effort, she also chairs the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation Latino/Immigrant Outreach Roundtable Advisory Committee. Through her GLO/GIO labors there are ESL classes in Dover, Millbrook, Millerton, Pine Plains, Pleasant Valley, and Pawling. In 2014 she was one of the honorees at LA VOZ Ten Year Anniversary ‘Fiesta Celebration’. In 2018 she is an Honoree for the Hispanic Heritage Community Service Award.
Evelyn is a parishioner at Grace Episcopal Church Millbrook, NY where she is a Vestry, Hospitality; she serves as the 2016 and 2018 Co-Chairperson for the ‘Great Whale of a Sale’; Chairperson of the Service Schedule for Sunday Ten O’clock Services. At St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Amenia Union, NY, she was on the Altar Guild and Vestry. She was the Coordinator of the ‘Food of Life /Comida de Vida Food Pantry’ through its inception and for its first three years in operation. In 2012 and again in 2018, she was appointed to the Mid-Hudson Executive Committee Board of Mangers Episcopal Diocese Mid-Hudson Region, New York.
A concerned and active resident, Mrs. Garzetta dedicates much of her time and effort to community-minded programs and projects such as serving on the board of Townscape of Millerton in the Town of North East, a local community beautification organization; as a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 178 Millerton; as President of the Briarwood Homeowners Association for the last eighteen teen years; a member of the Town of North East Planning Board; she is a board member of the Foundation for Community Health CT since 2012. She as well is (2017) a board member of the Northeast Community Center located in Millerton, NY. In 2018,
Prior to her career retirement in 2008, she was a Facilities Director in charge of fourteen offices throughout the country for a trade magazine publishing firm and, as such, was a member of International Facilities Managers Association (IFMA).
A devoted grandmother of eight, Evelyn and her husband, Joe, are longtime residents of Millerton, New York.
