Each applicant must meet one of the following criteria to be considered eligible for a grant from the Foundation for Community Health (FCH):

  • Non-profit organization with evidence of IRS 501(c)3 designation.
  • Recognition as a public entity of state and local government.

Note: Grants must benefit those who reside in our geographic area (see Towns Served) although the grantee’s office can be located outside of those boundaries.

The Foundation does not fund:

  • Individuals
  • Endowments
  • Private Foundations
  • Service clubs or membership organizations
  • Organizations that in their constitution, by-laws or practices discriminate against a person or group on the basis of age, race, national origin, ethnicity, gender, disability, sexual orientation, political affiliation or religious belief.
  • Programs by faith-based institutions having a spiritual and/or theological component.
  • Fundraising events (including direct mail campaigns)
  • Capital/Building Campaigns (bricks & mortar)
  • Funding short-falls
  • Debt reduction

The Foundation does not typically fund:

  • Capital/Building Campaigns (bricks & mortar)
