Funding Priorities
Funding Priorities
The Foundation for Community Health (FCH) works closely with the community to identify and fund critical needs affecting the health of its constituents in the areas of:
Other Types of Grantmaking
Donor Restricted Grants
Donor-restricted grants are those grants funded by the FCH with specific restrictions on the use and purpose of the grant funds:
- Prescription Assistance Fund
The Prescription Assistance Fund provides direct aid to individuals and families to help them cover prescription costs. This program originated with the directives of several donor-advised funds and is augmented by unrestricted FCH funds.
- Medical Education Fund
The Medical Education Fund advisory committee identifies and supports learning opportunities for a variety of health care providers on community health-related issues. It was established by pooling two funds, the Peter H. Smith Fund and the Elizabeth McCall Fund.
Opportunity Grants
Opportunity Grants are available in response to an issue or request outside of the FCH’s grantmaking priority — on an as-needed basis with a quick turnaround time. Examples of an “opportunity” might be an emergency or unexpected event, a unique idea or pilot project, or a request by another area funding partner to join in a collaborative effort.
