Eligibility

Organization Eligibility

Each applicant must meet one of the following criteria to be considered eligible for a Foundation for Community Health grant:

  • Non-profit organizations with evidence of IRS 501(c)3 designation.
  • Recognized as a public entity of state and local government.

Note: Grants need to benefit those who reside in our geographic area (see map) although the grantee’s office can be located outside of those boundaries.

The Foundation does not fund:

  • Private Foundations
  • Individuals
  • Fundraising events (including direct mail campaigns)
  • Endowments
  • Capital/Building Campaigns (bricks & mortar)
  • Cash Flow/funding gaps
  • Service clubs or membership organizations
  • Debt reduction
  • Organizations that in their constitution, by-laws or practices discriminate against a person or group on the basis of age, race, national origin, ethnicity, gender, disability, sexual orientation, political affiliation or religious belief.
  • Programs by faith-based institutions having a spiritual and/or theological component.
